We recently posted an article looking at some ways you could fundraise on behalf of Birth, Baby & Beyond. From the Virtual Kiltwalk to a walking challenge there’s lots of ways to get involved and help those in need too!
Whilst we are always grateful to be able to receive donations via our JustGiving page, fundraising gives you an opportunity to round up the troops and get moving, whilst knowing that you’re helping some of the less fortunate families living here in Glasgow at the same time.
Taking part in either of our fundraisers is also a great way to improve your fitness, and maybe discover the inner athlete you never knew lived within too… who knows?
Whatever fundraising option you choose to go with, today we’re going to be exploring how funds raised are used, and why your help is so important to us.
Birth, Baby & Beyond’s main aim is to reduce child poverty here in Scotland by way of our Starter Packs, Baby Food Packs and our newly added Reusable Packs. These packs are free to families who need them.
Families can gain access to a plethora of essential items to help them look after themselves and also gives them access to safe and clean baby and child items.
Many of the families we support are not in a position to purchase the essential items they receive from our packs making the support we offer life changing for them and their children.
Having a child can be very costly, so we try to lighten the financial load and in turn, any associated stress via our packs.
As items can be donated by fellow local parents in the community, our initiative is also one of creating unity and a feeling of togetherness across the city – including those families who may currently feel more isolated. And let’s not forget recycling!
Passing on preloved items to families is such a wonderful way to show children the joy of recycling and helping others. If you feel you, or a family you know may benefit from receiving one of our packs, please get in touch.
The pandemic has resulted in many more families falling deeper into poverty and needing support from Birth, Baby & Beyond, and that means that we rely on you now, more than ever.
We can’t wait to hear from you, so if you have any questions about anything you’ve read here or you’d just like to speak to us about donating, please get in touch with one of our team.
