Fundraising the Birth, Baby & Beyond Way – Part 1

Here at Birth, Baby & Beyond, we work to fight child poverty and help families in need… but we couldn’t do it without you. We rely on your donations to keep us going, offering support to families through the distribution of our Starter Packs. One way you can get involved is through fundraising, which is going to be the topic of our next couple of articles – so make sure you don’t miss Part 2 when it’s published! We’ll be looking at different ways you can fundraise for us, whilst also enjoying the great outdoors and of course, having fun.

However, we couldn’t start anywhere else but by reflecting on the past year. To say that 2020 was challenging is somewhat of an understatement – our lives were turned upside down, with all of us having to adapt to the new normal. It also meant that we had to take the difficult decision to temporarily suspend our services to ensure we kept everyone safe. With a new year well underway, we’re all primed and ready to go, continuing to help those in our community who need it most, starting with fundraising.

The days are getting longer, the sun has started to make an appearance once more and the light at the end of the lockdown tunnel is finally getting bigger and brighter. So, what could be better than to commemorate the occasion than by getting out of our homes and spending more time outdoors in the fresh air? Well, getting outside whilst fundraising for an excellent cause for one of course!

This month at Birth, Baby & Beyond we’re going to be tackling the Virtual Kiltwalk, from the 23rd to the 25th April. This is always a great event to get involved with, so we were so pleased to hear that it would be running in 2021, albeit in a slightly different way to normal. The pandemic has meant that when it comes to fundraising, people have had to get that little bit more inventive with the ways in which they can get together and raise money for good causes (such as Birth, Baby & Beyond). This means that whilst we’re not able to physically walk together, we’ll all be walking together in spirit, which is just as good.

Sign up and walk the Kiltwalk on our behalf. All #teambirthbabyandbeyond walkers will receive a free BB&B t-shirt and exclusive pin badge! We would really appreciate your support and can assure you that all your fundraising will be put to very good use! We’re also going to be taking part in a walking challenge too, in a bid to fundraise as much as we possibly can. Step into Spring is a great event for all and can be easily achieved by walking 30 minutes to 1 hour each day!

Part 2 will be looking at why fundraising is so important to us, along with giving you some more information about how donations made are used.

In the meantime, if you have any questions about anything you’ve read here or you’d just like to speak to us about donating, please get in touch with one of our team.
